It is often true that people who start and manage a creative business don't always have a solid business background. This leads to lots of questions, doubts and a steep learning curve. Liz Smith, who lives in Lowell and runs Smith Dry Goods, where she makes beautiful handcrafted items, started a show to address this issue. She brought on business owners to talk about how they got started, what criteria they judge before making specific decisions and things to keep in mind before you get started with a business as an artist.
